On January 1, 2026, something happened that most business owners still don't know about. Major insurance carriers quietly started attaching AI exclusions to standard General Liability, E&O, D&O, and Cyber policies. Businesses using AI (and at this point, that's most of them) had gaps in their coverage that didn't exist the day before.
The logic was simple. Verisk, the organization that writes the standard policy language used in about 82% of US P&C policies, released new endorsements (CG 40 47, CG 40 48, and CG 35 08) that allow carriers to explicitly exclude generative AI claims. Carriers started attaching them at renewal. And most policyholders had no idea.
When I saw that happening, one thing was immediately clear: most independent brokers don't have the tools or the specialty knowledge to audit a client's portfolio for AI-specific exclusions. And the big carriers aren't going to help. They're the ones writing the exclusions. Someone needed to connect exposed businesses with the specialty markets that could actually protect them.
So I built The AI Insurance Group.
We're early. I won't pretend otherwise. But in about 90 days, we stood up three properties that work together as a single system.
TheAIInsuranceGroup.com is our main brand site. It's where we explain the problem, introduce our services, and point people toward the right resources. We serve lawyers, physicians, wealth managers, corporate directors (professionals whose AI exposure is real and whose existing brokers often don't have the specialty knowledge to address it).
IsYourAICovered.com is a consumer-facing lead generation site. It offers a free 60-second assessment that helps business owners figure out whether they have AI-related coverage gaps. No jargon, no hard sell. Just a quick set of questions and an honest risk rating.
Audit.TheAIInsuranceGroup.com is our AI Policy Audit Tool, a deeper diagnostic that reviews actual policy documents across GL, E&O, D&O, Cyber, EPLI, and Products Liability to identify AI-related exclusions, sublimits, and endorsements that may have been quietly added at renewal.
Three sites. One funnel.
The insurance industry hasn't caught up to AI. Most brokers aren't equipped to audit for AI-specific exclusions. Most carriers are still figuring out how to price the risk. And in the meantime, businesses are exposed.
The AI insurance market is projected to reach about $4.8 billion in annual premiums by 2032. Right now, we're in the earliest innings of that growth. A handful of specialty insurers (Munich Re's aiSure, Armilla, Testudo) have launched AI-specific products, but the vast majority of businesses are still relying on legacy policies that were never designed for algorithmic risk.
That gap is our opportunity. We're offering a service that most independent brokers and large carriers don't have yet, but will.
We're a marketing and informational platform today. But what we're really doing is connecting businesses that don't know they're exposed with the specialty markets that can actually protect them.
Deeper content and thought leadership. The knowledge base on our site will grow into a go-to resource for AI risk education. We're tracking regulatory developments and the language carriers are putting in exclusions, so our audience doesn't have to.
Broker partnerships at scale. We work with P&C brokers who want to offer AI coverage audits to their existing clients without building specialty expertise in-house. That channel has enormous potential. You keep the client. We bring the knowledge.
Smarter assessment tools. Our audit tool analyzes actual policy language, not just self-reported answers, to deliver truly personalized gap analysis. It will keep getting better.
Industry-specific verticals. AI risk looks different for a law firm than it does for a healthcare provider or a fintech startup. We're building the expertise to serve each of these verticals with tailored guidance and coverage recommendations.
The foundation is right. The timing is right. And the problem we're solving isn't going away. It's accelerating.
If you're a business owner using AI in any capacity, the question isn't whether you need to think about this. It's whether you can afford not to.
If you're a broker looking for a specialty partner in a space that's about to explode, let's talk.
